The U.S. Government Cannot Perform Basic Functions Under Trump
URGENT: The Bureau of Labor of Labor Statistics has announced it will NOT produce the October jobs report because it is unable to.
The agency (or what’s left of it) says the November jobs report will be produced, but will be delayed about 2 weeks.
This is an alarming failure of the U.S. government to perform a basic government function—gathering data to guide policy decisions.
This failure is indicative are broad cracks forming across federal agencies. Primary causes include:
1. Loss of institutional memory and operational capacity due to sweeping layoffs.
2. Damage and disruption of U.S. Data infrastructure caused by DOGE.
3. Trump threatening and firing leadership, replacing agency heads with unqualified loyalists.
4. A lapse in appropriations caused by Trump’s record-breaking government shutdown.
What do you think? Are these warning signs of systemwide failures in the government? If so, how can it be fixed?

They really can’t.
What a mess.
And for Americans it should be unacceptable that your government can’t do basic things.
